Counselling
The Family Counsellor works with parents and children on an individual basis or as a family.
Counselling and support is offered around various issues which affect families, including: parenting, grief and loss, disabilities, separation and divorce, depression, trauma and abuse
Eligibility Criteria:
• Families and children aged 0 to 15 years
• Live /work or attend school in the City of Darebin
• Families affected by family violence
• Are on a HCC or low income
Fees: Fees are set as per DCH Fees Policy.
No fees are charged for families on a low income or whose income makes them eligible for a HCC.
$25 per consultation is charged for middle to high income
Referral:
A doctor’s referral is not required.
Parents/carers, kindergarten teachers, Maternal Child Health Nurses and other health and welfare professionals can refer.
Waiting Time: The service operates on Monday – Friday from 9am - 5pm
Interpreters: Interpreters can be arranged when required.
