Emergency Dental Services
To get an emergency appointment, you will need to ring the Darebin Community Health Dental Clinic at East Preston, 8470 1178, Northcote 9403 1200 or Panch Health Service 9485 9060. Our receptionists will ask you a number of questions to enable us to determine the urgency of your problem. An appointment will be allocated accordingly. Emergency appointments are to relieve pain so you will not be given general dental treatment.
If we have no appointments available, we will refer you the Royal Dental Hospital located at
720 Swanston Street, Carlton.
General
To access general dental treatment you will need to put your name on our waiting list. Once your name comes to the top of the list we will write to you offering an appointment.
Dentures
To access denture treatment you will need to have completed your general dental treatment. Once this is completed you will be placed on a separate waiting list for dentures. When you come to the top of the list you will be offered an appointment
Eligibility Criteria:
Only clients with Health Care Cards or equivalent are eligible for public dental services
Fees: As per State Government policy, you will be charged the following fees:
o EMERGENCY Treatment:
A co-payment fee of $23.00 is required for emergency treatment payable at the time of the appointment.
o GENERAL Treatment
Co-payment fees ranging from $23.00 to $92 apply per course of treatment.
o DENTURES
There is also a denture co-payment.
Referral:
You do not need a referral from a doctor or a health professional for dental services.
How to Make an Appointment: Contact the Dental Receptionists at any of the sites and they will help with your enquiry for an appointment.

Hours Of Operation: Generally the clinics are opened from 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays; however this may vary at each site.
Darebin Community Health, including the Dental Health Service is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
