Refugee Health
The Refugee Health Nurse can assist with
Support for refugee families with health issues and concerns
Making and co-ordinating appointments with Doctors.
Referral for refugee families to other agencies which may help meet health needs.
Making home visits when able
Social health assessments for refugee families.
Coordinating with hospitals and other health care providers to ensure complete health care.
Organisation of family based health education and discussion sessions as required.
Provision of information on how to use emergency services and telephone interpreting services.
Organisation of tours to relevant health care facilities upon request.
Eligibility Criteria:
Primarily, all Refugee and Asylum seekers who have arrived in Australia in the past five years and residing in the City of Darebin
Fees: The Refugee Health Nurse Service is free of charge.
The Nurse will arrange interpreters for appointments. These are also free of charge
Referral:
It is not necessary to have a referral from a health professional to see the Refugee Health Nurse.

Interpreters: Interpreters can be arranged. Telephone 131 450. Interpreting services are free of charge.
Location of Service:
The Refugee Health Nurse is located at East Reservoir site, 125 Blake Street.
Hours Of Operation: Generally Monday to Friday 9.00am 5.00pm.
