Governance
The Board of Governance’s role, acting on behalf of its members, is to govern the organisation so that it achieves its aims and objective while acting ethically and prudently, remaining with the law.
To facilitate this, the Board develops and monitors governance policies and a clear strategic direction that together provide boundaries and instructions for its own and the CEO’s functions. The Board delegates responsibility for carrying out its policies and achieving its strategic results to the CEO.
Of the nine Board Members, five are elected by Darebin Community Health membership, and four are appointed by the Governor in Council following an expression of interest and interview process.
Board Members serve a three year term.
The last elections were held in May 2007 and the changes took effect following the Annual General Meeting in October 2007.
